FPA Executive Secretary job opening
The Foreign Press Association, a nonprofit dedicated to freedom of the press and journalist safety, is looking for a committed individual to join our team as our executive secretary.
About us: The FPA is an umbrella organization representing dozens of major global news organizations. Our members include foreign journalists, as well as Israeli and Palestinian journalists working for these international organizations. We work with both Israeli and Palestinian officials to promote issues of concern, including bureaucratic issues, journalist safety and access and movement.
Job Description: The executive secretary is the FPA’s only paid employee and works closely with our elected board members to set and implement policy. Duties include maintaining membership records; organizing press pools for major news events; organizing member events with guest speakers; and handling communications with both Israeli and Palestinian officials, often during times of crisis.
Requirements: The successful candidate must have strong organizational and bookkeeping skills, a belief in the mission of the FPA and be a fluent English speaker. High-level Hebrew and a background in journalism are helpful, though not essential.
Position Type: This is a full-time position that can include occasional work on evenings or weekends. Salary is negotiable.
