Crispian Balmer was Reuters bureau chief for Israel and the Palestinian Territories from 2010-2014. He has been with Reuters since 1991, reporting from more than 20 countries during that time, covering everything from Hurricane Katrina to the Asian Tsunami and the Balkans conflict. Previous assignments included lengthy spells as chief correspondent in both Paris and Rome. After Jerusalem, he moved back to Italy as a specialist editor.
