Samer Shalabi began working in journalism 1991 first as a fixer then as a soundman, finally rising to cameraman and editor with MBC. In 1997, he moved to CTV and since 2000 he has been working as cameraman for CBC TV News, covering Israel, the PA, Jordan, Egypt etc. During these years he has worked on documentaries as well as teaching media related subjects. Shalabi joined the FPA in 2001 and realising the importance of the organization, has served on the FPA Board since 2007,  contributing greatly to the organization in dealing with all the relevant authorities to resolve crises and day to day problems faced by members. Shalabi is a popular and sought after lecturer on subjects relating to the complex issues faced by the foreign media in their coverage of the region.
